Acres Hockey and Brain Navigators are proud to include the Foundation for Success Program as part of BRINGING SMART PLAY TO HOCKEY.
2011's school takes place from July 24-28, 2011 in Parksville, BC, Canada.
The Foundation for Success Program offers participants the building blocks for a strong future in hockey. These blocks are the basic skills needed to be successful on the ice: skating, shooting, passing, and stickhandling.
Mastery of this skill set will provide participants a strong foundation for their further hockey development. This program is for players in the Atom through Minor (1st year) Peewee (9-11) age groupings.
On-ice safety program will include awareness of danger areas and self protection as even though at this age there isn't legal body checking, contact does happen during game play.
Henry brings a unique perspective to training in that he is still a player at a high level. During the past 5 seasons he has combined playing with coaching while in Europe.
For the 2008-09 season with Kiekko-Vantaa in Finland's Mestis League and also being involved with player development in Finland, as a coaching consultant with Tuuski Hockey, working with all coaches and players in that organization.
In 2006-07, with Arborga IFK in Sweden he was Assistant Program leader for the Hockey Gymnasium, working with the city's top high school aged players.
During the 2007-08 season he was a guest instructor with Asploven HC's teams from mites right up to the junior and womens programs. In 2010-11 Henry is back in Sweden playing and coaching with Asploven HC. These coaching experiences combined with Henry's varied playing background provide participants exceptional exposure to 3 of the world's hockey powers developmental systems and training methods.
